Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons petroleum jelly
- 1–2 vitamin E capsules (pierced and squeezed)
- Optional: 2–3 drops jojoba or rosehip oil
Step 1: Prepare
Place the petroleum jelly in a clean bowl.
Cut open the vitamin E capsules and squeeze the oil into the bowl.
Step 2: Mix
Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
Transfer to a clean, airtight container if desired.
Step 3: Apply
After washing your face or hands:
- Pat the skin slightly damp.
- Apply a very thin layer of the balm.
- Massage gently until evenly distributed.
Because petroleum jelly is very occlusive, a small amount is usually enough.
When to Use
For most people, this balm is best used:
- Before bedtime
- On dry areas of the face (if tolerated)
- On hands, elbows, knees, cuticles, or heels
Potential Benefits
Regular use may help:
- Reduce dryness
- Improve skin softness
- Strengthen the skin barrier
- Make fine lines caused by dehydration appear less noticeable
These effects are due to improved hydration rather than wrinkle removal.
