I Let Him Throw Me From the Helicopter, But My Secret Plan Was Already Unraveling His Revenge

The Airborne Gambit

Richard’s grip loosened, the wind roared, and my stomach lurched as the helicopter’s door yawned open.

He shouted something about “inheritance,” his smile widening, but the roar of the blades drowned his voice.

Instinct took over; my fingers brushed the seam of my skin‑tight jacket, feeling the hidden latch I’d sewn in months ago.

I pulled, and a muted *whoosh* announced the deployment of the compact parachute tucked beneath my ribs.

The sudden drag yanked me upward, the sudden slowdown a gasp of surprise in the thin air.

Below, the heli slipped away, its rotors fading into the horizon, the sea swallowing its silhouette.

Richard’s eyes tracked me, confident, believing the fall would be my end.

My mind raced—calculating drift, wind, the jagged cliffs I’d plotted on a secret map.

Even as the parachute steadied me, a surge of cold resolve flooded my veins.

I was alive, and the game had only just begun.

Beach of Secrets

The parachute finally gave way to a soft, sand‑laden thud as I hit the secluded cliffside.

Salt spray stung my eyes; a bruised shoulder throbbed, but I breathed, grateful for the hidden cove’s shelter.

My boots sank into the wet sand, and I crouched, feeling the earth’s tremor beneath the hidden entrance.

It was exactly where I’d marked it—the narrow fissure concealed by jagged rocks and seaweed.

I pried the slab aside, revealing a steel door sealed with a retinal scanner I’d programmed to recognize my own iris.

Inside, the bunker was dim, rows of servers humming, and at the center, a reinforced vault stood.

My hand hovered over the lever, the cold metal pulsing under my fingertips.

With a pull, the vault hissed open, exposing a stack of encrypted drives and a small, polished recorder.

I pressed play; Richard’s voice filled the cavity, confessing his plot, his greed, his intent to claim everything.

Just as the last words faded, a distant siren wailed, echoing off the cliffs—my allies had heard.

Section 3: The Call and the Truth

My phone buzzed against the sand, a faint vibration that seemed impossible in the wind‑howling emptiness.

“Maya, it’s me,” I whispered, voice cracking as the ocean roared behind me.

She answered before I could finish, her tone flat and urgent: “I’m on my way. Hold tight.”

Minutes later, the roar of a battered 4×4 shredded the gravel, its headlights cutting through the twilight.

Maya stepped out, her boots crunching on the wet stones, eyes scanning the bunker like a predator.

“You pulled the lever, Amelia?” she asked, voice low.

I nodded, pulling out a battered tablet that still held a faint glow.

She crouched beside the vault, fingers dancing over encrypted files.

“Richard’s been grooming the board for months,” she muttered, scrolling. “Look at this.”

On the screen, a PDF titled Death Certificate – Amelia Hayes stared back, stamped with the seal of a county clerk.

My stomach dropped. “He filed this before I even left the helipad,” I thought, the irony stabbing like the wind.

Maya tapped a command, pulling up a chain of email headers.

“He sent a copy to the trust attorney on June 3rd,” she said, eyes never leaving the screen. “He’s trying to trigger a clause that transfers 78% of my holdings to his name upon my ‘death.’”

I felt heat rise to my cheeks. “He thought he could erase me,” I whispered.

She placed a hand on my shoulder, steady. “We’ll make him watch his own lie crumble.”

We printed the documents, the ink smearing slightly in the sea air, and slipped them into a small, waterproof case.
