Easy Homemade Ground Beef Tacos

1. Cook the onion

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and diced onion.

Cook for 3–4 minutes, until softened.

2. Add the beef

Add the fresh ground beef and break it apart with a wooden spoon.

Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned and fully cooked.

Ground beef should reach 160°F (71°C) internally.

3. Add the seasoning

Stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

4. Add the sauce

Stir in the tomato sauce and water.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes flavorful.

5. Finish with lime

Turn off the heat and stir in the lime juice.

Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

6. Warm the tortillas

Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet for about 20–30 seconds per side, until warm and flexible.

7. Build the tacos

Fill each tortilla with the seasoned beef.

Top with shredded lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, sour cream, salsa, and cilantro.

8. Serve

Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges and your favorite salsa.

Tip: For extra-crispy tacos, fill the tortillas and quickly toast them in a lightly greased skillet until the edges are golden.

🌮 Fresh, flavorful, and ready in about 30 minutes!
