Creamy Mushroom Hamburger Patties

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the onion soup mix, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce if using.

Mix gently with your hands or a fork until everything is just combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the patties tough.

Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a thick hamburger patty.

Step 2: Arrange the patties

Lightly grease a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.

Place the raw beef patties in a single layer, leaving a little space between them.

Step 3: Make the mushroom sauce

In a medium bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup with the milk.

Whisk until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

If you want an even richer mushroom gravy, you can add a little black pepper or a splash of Worcestershire sauce.

Step 4: Pour over the beef

Pour the mushroom soup mixture evenly over the raw hamburger patties.

Use the back of a spoon to spread the sauce so that most of the patties are covered.

The sauce will become rich and savory as it cooks with the beef juices.

Step 5: Cover and bake

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.

Place it in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 35–40 minutes.

Step 6: Finish uncovered

Carefully remove the foil and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes.

The sauce should be bubbling and thickened, while the beef patties should be cooked through.

For food safety, the ground beef should reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 7: Serve

Remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Spoon plenty of the creamy mushroom gravy over each hamburger patty before serving.

These creamy mushroom hamburger patties are delicious over mashed potatoes, rice, egg noodles, or buttered noodles, with green beans or steamed vegetables on the side. The sauce is so good that you’ll want something on the plate to soak it all up!
