Cataracts are one of the most common causes of cloudy or blurred vision, particularly as people get older. They develop when the normally clear lens inside the eye becomes cloudy, making it harder for light to pass through properly.
A cataract does not appear suddenly because of something you ate. It usually develops gradually, and vision may become increasingly blurry over months or years.
Common symptoms include cloudy or blurry vision, difficulty seeing at night, increased sensitivity to bright lights, halos around headlights, faded or yellowish colors, and the need to change eyeglass prescriptions more frequently.
Some people initially notice that reading becomes more difficult or that everyday activities such as driving at night are becoming uncomfortable. Because cataracts usually progress gradually, a person may not immediately realize how much their vision has changed.
You may see advertisements claiming that a particular mineral, vitamin, tablet, drink, or homemade eye treatment can make cataracts disappear within five minutes. These claims are not supported by reliable medical evidence.
A cataract is a physical clouding of the eye’s lens. There is no proven mineral or homemade recipe that can dissolve an established cataract within minutes and restore a cloudy lens to its original clarity.
It is particularly important not to put homemade mixtures, powders, salt solutions, oils, or herbal preparations directly into the eyes. The eye is extremely sensitive, and inappropriate substances can cause irritation, infection, corneal injury, or other complications.
