Tropical Mango Ginger Tonic

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups water
  • 1½ inches fresh ginger root, thinly sliced
  • 1 inch fresh turmeric root, sliced (or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric)
  • 1 tablespoon dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 teaspoon dried mango pieces (or 2 tablespoons diced fresh mango, added after brewing)
  • 1 mango herbal tea bag
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (or 1 small cinnamon stick)
  • ¼ teaspoon whole black peppercorns (or a pinch of ground black pepper)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (optional)

Optional sweeteners

  • Honey
  • Stevia
  • Monk fruit sweetener
  • Erythritol
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Pour the water into a small saucepan.
  2. Add the ginger, turmeric, hibiscus, dried mango, cinnamon, and black pepper.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and add the mango herbal tea bag. Steep for 5–7 minutes.
  5. Strain into a mug or pitcher.
  6. If using fresh mango, stir in the diced mango or blend it into the strained tea for a richer, fruitier drink.
  7. Add the lime juice if desired and sweeten to taste.
  8. Serve warm, or chill and pour over ice. Garnish with fresh mango cubes or a lime slice for a refreshing tropical finish.
